Zazen Audio

Our Research
The research we conduct is based on sensory science, psychology and neuroscience.
At Zazen Audio, we focus on the intersection of game audio, spatial audio, perception, and psychology. We explore how these areas intertwine and how they can be used to create compelling, immersive audio experiences.
We use a range of cutting-edge tools and techniques to help understand what makes the best audio experience possible. Our network of researchers and engineers have a great understanding of the psychological effects of sound and how to use it to create a truly captivating experience.

Patrick Flanagan
Principal Investigator
I explore the interplay between sound and human experience.

My ongoing PhD at Fielding Graduate University, focusing on the cognitive and emotional aspects of sound perception, further solidifies my commitment to understanding and enhancing human interaction with audio environments. My passion for creating immersive audio experiences is evident across gaming, entertainment, and education. Through multiple published user research studies and collaborations with prestigious partners, including NYU, THX, and Logitech, I am advancing the field of spatial audio processing and its applications in video games, linear media, and hearable devices, which aim to enhance and enable people to live in a complex audio landscape.
